Lifestyles of the Conniving and Country.. its DALLAS BITCH!

By Stephfon Guidry

Who shot J.R.? If you know the answer to that question then you are more than happy and over joyed that TNT has picked up DALLAS for a reboot in summer of 2012. Do you like saddles, ten gallon hats and a Texas Southern hospitality mixed with rich waspy hostility you are in for a treat!

The show returns with the family feud in the hands of the sons, a sins’ of the father approach, that a will wrangle in the fans of shows like Gossip Girl and 90210 with something richer and as country as spurs. TNT announced to RedCarpet.com that they would be purchasing a 10-episode run to get the DALLAS reboot back in the saddle on the small screen. A cut classic not to disappoint, the casting includes Larry Hagman (age 79 reprising his EPIC role as J. R. Ewing), Patrick Duffy (Bobby), and Linda Gray (Bobby’s ex-wife Sue Ellen) of the original cast.  Newcomers to the DALLAS enterprise are Jesse Metcalfe hunky gardener of Desperate Housewives (cast as Bobby’s adopted son Christopher), Josh Henderson also of Desperate Housewives (plays J.R. son, John Ross), Julie Gonzalo of the Fast and the Furious franchise, Brenda Strong the voice of the original suicidal Desperate Housewife IsenseAPATTERN, and Rebbeca Sutter with shows like Veronica Mars and Eli Stone. DALLAS will heat up 2012’s summer with big drama because as the saying goes everything is Bigger in Texas.

“TNT has explored the possibility of an updated version of ‘Dallas’ for several years, but it wasn’t until we read Cynthia Cidre’s outstanding pilot script that we knew we had the foundation for a great new series,” Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM), said in the TNT network’s statement. (OntheRedCarptet.com) DALLAS carries a legacy of running from 1978 to 1991 and will bring with it generational expectations, hopefully it brings families together around the television.

So prepare to kick off your spurs and heels, to tune into history in the making as DALLAS rounds up ratings in the summer of 2012. YEEHAAW!!
