olympus-has-fallen-posterWhen the White House (Secret Service Code: “Olympus”) is captured by a terrorist mastermind and the President is kidnapped, disgraced former Presidential guard Mike Banning finds himself trapped within the building. As our national security team scrambles to respond, they are forced to rely on Banning’s inside knowledge to help retake the White House, save the President and avert an even bigger crisis. Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) directs an all-star cast featuring Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Melissa Leo, Ashley Judd and Rick Yune.

I am especially excited to see my girl Angela Bassett act as head of the Secret Service, a role typically played by a male. As we all know about Angela she always brings the goods! Lynne Jacobs is the steely, strict, and tough director of the Secret Service. Excellent at her job, she’s known for always having everything under control. After terrorists take control of the White House, she’s a vital part of the security team working feverishly to save the president and her country during the crisis.

Best DT on the market.” Desmond Bryant began his hard-hitting career professionally with the Raiders back in 2009 as an undrafted free agent. Desmond Bryant recently signed with Cleveland Browns for a five-year deal of $34 Million and a guaranteed $15 Million. While in February he played a bit too hard in Miami and became the butt of many a joke from his Mugshot. Now that’s a face only a Mother could love. Bryant was charged with a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief, due to his drunken raucous at a neighbor’s residence in Miami. Bryant’s sheer talent out-shined his misbehavior, finishing last season with 36 tackles and four sacks in 16 games. The NFL is now all abuzz about the new deal for Desmond Bryant; Cleveland fans await their new Defensive addition as well as Paul Kruger from the Baltimore Ravens (with his own $40 Million deal).  Who says money can’t buy you talent?

Medical Miracle in Mississippi

These are some of the many headlines being spouted by many a media as doctors worldwide scramble to explain, understand and replicate the findings of the “Miracle in Mississippi”. The medical miracle being the 2 ½ year old girl that Dr. Hannah Gay, associate professor of pediatrics at the University of MI, and Dr. Deborah Persaud, a pediatrician at Johns Hopkins Children Center are deeming “functionally cured” of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)—making her the 2nd global case ever.  In 2010, the young mother and premature baby were found to be HIV positive. After a battery of tests, including multiple blood draws, DNA testing, the child’s viral load results were among 20,000; which was relatively low for an infant born with the virus. She underwent an aggressive treatment of the HIV/AIDS cocktail AZT and within 29 days her blood work shown that a status of “Undetectable”. The medical world is using the term “functionally cured” rather than a “cure for HIV” for two reasons. Reason one, doctors are attempting to test the validity of the findings of this treatment to be used in new cases and want to replicate these findings. Reason two, for people living with HIV and are “undetectable” there are still hidden viral reservoirs which need treatment therefore usual patients maintain lifelong treatment. As reported by the Center for Disease Control the most recent number of HIV+ cases is approximately 1.4 million in North America while 23.5 million in the Sub-Sahara, therefore the fight against HIV/AIDS is still at the forefront of all our minds.
