By Stephfon Guidry

Lil-Kim-Wendy-WilliamsBad Girls Club Celebrity edition, clearly Wendy Williams (@WendyWilliams) has come a long way from her days a disc jockey on radio gossiping and gabbing to the microphone yet now she has stirred up a battle with Hip Hop Queen B, Lil Kim (@LilKim). It is clear that Lil Kim has physically changed over the years. However Wendy Williams used Lil Kim’s recent paparazzi snapshots as one of her HOT TOPICS speaking on the drastic plastic surgery changes. Lil Kim took the topic like a prize fighter and tweeted her combination of disses, brings to mind the phrase ‘reading for filth’! Wendy Williams may have a talk show but at this most recent date it seems Lil’ Kim put a period on this Hot Topic. With diva’s dishing our dirt like this who needs a new season of Bad Girls Club? Just Kidding!

Trading Season for The Game

By Stephfon Guidry

The GAME season 5 brought said good bye to some and hello to show regulars like Brandy but it was not done with the drama on and off the field. BET’s hit show the GAME says they don’t chase em they replace em as Tia Mowry-Hardict and Pooch Hall exit stage left! The producers are pressing forward with a show must go on attitude as they search for two new characters.

With Tia Mowry leaving the show, producers are looking for a new female actress to join the cast in the regular role of Kiera, a 20-year-old former child star who has been in the spotlight since she was five years old and starring on a “Cosby” style sitcom. According to the casting call, she’s bright and charming, but struggling into transitioning into a grown-up career.

Kiera isn’t the only newbie in town! Another series regular will be hired to play Bryce “The Blueprint” Westbook – a #1, Ivy League draft pick running back who breaks every “dumb athlete” stereotype. He’s not only got a Heisman Trophy, but he’s usually the smartest guy in the room — which sets his new teammates on edge.

Are fans so fickle to say that as Season 6 of the Game approaches they are ready for two new characters or will these fresh faces be exactly what will shake the game up?

True Blood Love and Babies

By Stephfon Guidry

Fans can’t wait to sink their teeth into the juicy new season of True Blood, however the real life couple of Anna Paquin (Sooki Stackhouse) and Stephen Moyer (Vampire Bill) has sprouted new life.  Englishman Moyer and X-Men star Paquin married in Malibu back in 2010. While this is Anna’s first bundle of joy it is Moyer’s third as he has a son and daughter from a previous marriage.

Anna Paquin (Oscar Winner) and the shows main character is expecting and fans are in a tizzy about whether or not the baby will post-pone the show or change it. The worries are quite small since filming for Season 5 of True Blood began last-November. Sooki Stackhouse will probably still be the sultry blonde bombshell of the show without any baby bump-tease. While there are no talks of a confirmed 6th season, series creator Alan Ball is stepping down after this season, but get ready for more fairies, werewolves and a show with a lot of sexy bite on HBO June 10. Have you sipped your True Blood lately?

Kerry Washington slays a SCANDAL

By Stephfon Guidry

Beautiful, talented and milk chocolate curves in all the right places evokes the image of none other than stunning noted actress Kerry Washington. Kerry Washington will join the Hot Spring line up for ABC with the likes of G.C.B. (Good Christian Belles), Missing, Once Upon A Time and more.  ABC gears up to premiere her new primetime thriller SCANDAL, 9 P.M. Thursdays on April 5th.

Washington will dazzle audiences as Olivia Pope a Publicist taking the SCANDALous world of “crisis management” to a new level. The show is produced by Shonda Rhimes (Greys Anatomy, Private Practice), and loosely based on the life of PR manager Judy Smith.  Judy Smith is a renowned African-American woman whose worked on the prosecution of DC Mayor Marion Barry, The Clarence Thomas case and the impeachment of former Pres. Bill Clinton to name a few. Washington’s character tackles ever celebrity meltdown from politics, sports, business and relationship drama. “In her professional life she is always the smartest woman in the room. In her personal life she’s a total mess,” Washington tells People Magazine.

SCANDAL brings Kerry Washington to the small screen as her newest project A Thousand Words with Eddie Murphy comes to the theaters March 9. Washington will play Eddie’s love interest as he strives to make an honest man of himself when gifted with only 1,000 words to live! In a BET interview about the movie, Kerry Washington commented on Scandal, “Scandal’ is a great show. If you love politics, scandal and relationships you’ll love this show.” (Eurweb.com)

GOOD CHRISTIAN BITCHES

By Stephfon Guidry

Saved, Sanctified and a little bit slutty is just a taste of what is in store of audiences this weekend with ABC’s new “dramedy” G.C.B. aka Good Christian Belles. Imagine the Mean Girls with bibles in hand and terrifying one of their frienemies/rivals on her return to their hometown. G.C.B. is filled with comedy and scripture as Kristin Chenworth (GLEE, Broadway’s Wicked), Annie Potts (Designing Women), Leslie Bibb, Jennifer Aspen, David James Elliot, Marisol Nichols, Miriam Shor, and Brad Beyer. Good Christian Belles is takes the desperate real housewives of Dallas, Texas and puts them in the heat of high school rivalry reignited as Leslie Bibbs character, Amanda Vaughn , comes home once her cheating husband dies in a car crash leaving her destitute with her children. Its Annie Potts, playing Gigi Stopper brings her grandchildren to church so “they can Go to Heaven”; Krstin Chenworth and her cronies bring in the funny and faith. Jennifer Aspen commented on the grandeur and Texas-sized antics of the show, “There’s a real admiration of this area, of these people, of this life” (HuffingtonPost.com) In an interview on HuffPostTV, Annie Potts pointedly said, “A lot people don’t think it’s real they think we exaggerate it.”

ABC received criticism on the shows content of Christian values and comedy being based on the book Good Christian Bitches by Kim Gatlin. Critics judge the show narrowly on the fact that it is centered on a group of women who go to church in the South. Some comments like “Christian Bashing” or “Going to Far” have been thrown at the cast before the air date however I will judge this show for myself. If there is a show for a group of alcohol drinking 21 and over on the jersey shore in reality tv well why not have a scripted show from the famed writer of Steel Magnolias Bobby Harling do a show on Good Christian Belles! Tune into the sermons and sexy witted women on ABC Sunday, March 4 10 PM/9 PM!

From Bullied to Babe

By Stephfon Guidry

It’s a topic on most prime time television shows and in our everyday lives, bullying. It’s interesting to hear celebrities speak up and out about their struggles as a youth at being bullied. Hit shows like GLEE tackle the subject of bullying constantly and head through it with a sense of reality, giving consequences and repercussions. From having characters being bullied for their gender, sexuality, handicap, to their body types it is something that touches television constantly. Recently the Mad Men starlet, Christina Hendricks spoke openly about her struggles in high school.

Christina Hendricks, one of Esquire Magazines Sexiest Women Alive in 2012, tells U.K.s Mirror what she endured, “There was a long corridor with lockers on either side and kids would sit on top of them and spit on you.” Hendricks described herself as an outsider with an extreme look of purple hair and dark clothes feeling very goth but not fitting in except with the theater crew—channeling Quinn Fabray in GLEE life imitating ART! “I dyed my hair about 42 different colors, shaved it at the back and wore black make-up. Kids can be pretty judgmental about people who are different. But instead of breaking down and conforming, I stood firm. That is also probably why I was unhappy.”(HuffingtonPost.com) The list of stars and starlets who braved the halls of institutions under the bullying of others includes names like Taylor Lautner, Emm Watson, Bill Clinton, Alec Mapa, Chris Rock, Christina Aguilera and the list goes on. Celebrities speaking about their pasts give young people that message that there is hope at the end and there is more reason to live than to give up.
