Thoughts of sex appeal, stability, and ambition comes to mind. However, I couldn’t help but wonder why even among the high rollers, games of the young, immature, and careless are played.

As I stood at the bar at Taj in NYC, I couldn’t help but notice the assortment of sexy men. All from different walks of life and swag. “Grown and Sexy” it’s not just a look it it’s a way of life. Similar to age being nothing but a number, grown and sexy knows no age and has no restrictions. It’s about handling your business, enjoying life and carrying yourself in a respectable manner. These attributes can resonate in any age group, sexual role, or character disposition (masculine/feminine). So the preconceived notion that it only applies to 30 and over has now vanished.

In this poker game of love and relationships, it’s all about the mentality you bring to the table. Grown and Sexy is served through actions, because nowadays anyone can throw on a suit and tie. An action that conveys, willingness to take control over your personal life situations and make positive things happen.  Now that’s Grown and Sexy!

Love the One Your With!

In this season it’s easy to be blind-sided by temptation! It’s the summer and people are out frolicking in tank tops, muscles shirts or no shirts at all. Basketball courts are full with sweaty guys letting off steam and the beach is a romp for girls to sun bathe half naked. Oh La La, Sounds like a wonderland for those of us that are not in a relationship. But for those that are it’s a playground full of land mines.

Although this season is dubbed as a non-cuff season due to the scorching heat and the endless amount of things to do. Let alone having someone constantly on top of you in the heat is irritating.  Being in a relationship around this time should not be frowned upon; we should all blaze our own paths and not just follow societal norms. Yes, some relationships have a season while others last for years.

Committing to the fullest, and in every sense of the word, is key for a prosperous relationship. Commitment is allowing your actions and words to have a tremendous amount of weight, whether it is good or bad. The 60/40 rule comes to mind, this is when BOTH partners give 60% but expect 40%. 50/50 just don’t cut it no more! The essence of this rule is that both people are taken care of, because both partners invest more than what is expected. Each partner puts the other person happiness before their own, isn’t that what love is?

If you’re going to be in a relationship be loyal about it, if you’re going to say that you love someone let it have genuine sentiment behind it. If not then it is just another loaded word.

Indecisively Malibu

The summer is finally here! Although the temperature seems to teeter between sizzling heats to minute warmth, the trait of indecisiveness shouldn’t be in this season.  No matter how inconsistent the temperature wants to be, one thing that remains decided is enjoying a deliciously well-made drink. A drink that puts you in the right state of mind and send good ‘ole mister indecisive packing.

Of course at the top of the list for summer drinks are Piña Coladas, Daiquiris, and Margaritas. It’s an unwritten tradition for this time of the season.  For you guys who think these drinks are girly, they are not “sissy” drinks because they can be laced with a heavy amount of dark liquor or just the right touch to get you buzzed. Colorful in name and design and packs a punch in taste! Here is a classic recipe with a twist of modern taste.

Red Margarita

Ingredients: 

  • 2 Parts Malibu Red
  • 1 Part Lime Juice
  • 1 Part Agave syrup or grenadine

Instructions: Simply mix all the ingredients together in a shaker. Pour into Cocktail Glass with Sea Salt Rim and Garnish with a lime wedge. Enjoy!

  • Bulldog Gin
  • Ginger Liqueur
  • Strawberry
  • Simple Syrup
  • Champagne

Directions:

1.) Muddle strawberry with the simple syrup.

2.) Add Bulldog Gin and ginger liqueur.

3.) Shake well and strain into a martini glass.

4.) Top off with a final touch of champagne and strawberry to garnish.

Lemonade with a Twist

So it’s now come to the time again when the weathers nice, the heat and humidity is elevated and summer is near focus.  Although weeks away, you still need a drink to go with the moment that you are living in now. Beach wear and board shorts are a still a ways off, however it seems that lemonade goes perfect with this feeling and excitement. Ingredients:

  • Ciroc Snap Frost
  • Lemonade

Lustful At The Start.. Love By The End!

As I browsed through my areas of finding my next hookup, I came across a profile with this headline, “looking for love, settling for lust”.  Even on hook-up sites loves sweet aroma is in the air, but lust still lingers. I pose this question, Can love exist where there is lust?

We are all familiar that these two strong emotions can be very confusing. However, they shouldn’t co-exist in a progressing relationship. The reason for this is because one is a starting point and the other a finisher.

It goes without saying that when you first meet someone, love is not a word on your lips ready to come out. You barely know the person to love them. All you know about this person is what attracts you to them. Whether it is height, looks, facial hair or even the way they speak, it certainly doesn’t amount to love. It’s nothing short of lust. Lust is based off of sex and desire. Love is much deeper than that.

Its cliché to say love is unconditional, but it’s so true. Love accepts you for who you are and not what you should be. It picks you up when you’re down and it helps you right your wrongs. It acknowledges your presence and feelings. It knows who you are in a complete nut shell. Lust… doesn’t inconvenience itself for you. It might say and treat you in a loving manner, but when it comes down to showing how much it does love that is when it falls short and leaves you hanging. Oh, and you are not the only one it lust after!

It’s safe to say that you can grow to love someone from lust. The keywords being GROW. After reading the headline and analyzing my thoughts I wouldn’t want to settle for lust. Maybe enjoy it because I acknowledge it for what it is. Sexual desire is a part of being human but not the only part. To remain stuck at square one not wanting more is a waste of time.

Unveiled: You’re Gay!

As I ventured down to a hotspot on 14thst, a nice little hole in the wall called No Where. Upon entrance I was ambushed by a swarm of strippers baring all sex appeal in G-strings. Yes it was indeed a perfect sight. Nothing but man scent, nice bulging muscles and man cakes showing. However, I couldn’t help but wonder about the illusion that is being put up and masqueraded around in front of me.

The term “Gay For Pay” is a term coined when a straight guy does porn or any homosexual related act for money. This act of rubbing up on men for some dollars definitely falls in this category. Now I’m not knocking the hustle because I too have ambitions of being a stripper, it’s something worth trying. If you know you have it… flaunt it.

However, what I am doing is calling it like it is. You’re all gay on some level. You can’t pay straight men money to rub up on any dude. Even if he is not homophobic he isn’t doing it! He can be secure in his sexuality and have a girlfriend but to make a living out of being “Gay For Pay” is impossible. Unless he is bi-curious, with some homosexual fantasies either way he thinks about men. In other words “Gay For Pay” is just another way to cover up what they really want to do. Well not anymore! You have just been unveiled!

Grapefruit Weather

The weather is changing for the best and heading out with the crew is on everyone’s mind. Looking good, smelling sexual and putting your best foot forward is top priority. It goes without saying that having a quick handy drink to heighten the feeling is needed. Grapefruits are one of my favorite fruits and as soon as I saw this commemorative Absolut cocktail by Swedish House Mafia. I just had to highlight it and take it up under my wing. A simple drink with a grapefruit taste is hard to pass up in my book. Unique and Absolut indeed once you try it will definitely be in your recipe book for revisiting.

Absolut Greyhound Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients:

1 part Absolut Vodka

3 part Pink Grapefruit Juice

1 Grapefruit wedge

Simply add all ingredients over the rocks and garnish.  Add the grapefruit garnish to top it off.

Raising the Temperature

They usually say when life gives you lemons you make lemonade. However, when life gives you a cocktail you have to indulge. Whether the weather, the gym, or a special someone has got you in a good mood, this cocktail would put you on a higher level.

Life may give you lemons; this recipe gives you raspberries and a pinch of chili powder. Upon the first sight of the ingredients, I thought to myself chili powder. My curiosity was immediately sparked and my taste buds enlightened. It may not be one the regular to-drink-list, but it is definitely worth trying.

Thanks to Svedka Vodka for giving us something worth exploring, while we explore the joys of this sudden raise in temperature.

Hot Bot

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Svedka Raspberry Vodka
  • 4 parts Cranberry Juice
  • 1 part Fresh Lime
  • Pinch of chili powder

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients into shaker with ice and shake like your life depends on it. Strain into a martini glass and add only a pinch of chili powder. If you overdue the pinch, you just might ruin this whole cocktail.
