Don’t call it a comeback! Lil Kim beasted her BET performance on #RiptheRunway! Kim made the models sway don the catwalk and twitter a buzz, battling over her NON lip-synching talent that stood on its own without gimmick OrgoodFashionSense. Lil Kim slashed the runway, dressing in a sheer catsuit, blazing new ground singing and rapping her hot Valentine’s Day single, “If You Love Me” & going in on some of her classic bars on the mic. Kim made it feel like she never left and proved she still has the raw edge to her lyrics.
BET ‘s Rip the Runway show featured many up and coming urban fashion designers, Hip Hop elite, and models of both sexes and all sizes. Selita Ebanks—former Victoria Secret Model—captured a primal and powerful presence in the show with her new swimwear line; SASS (Selita Accessories Shoes & Swimwear). SASS served up much skin, plunging necklines, and warrior princess-esque vibe came from the models. Selita told EXTRA in Los Angelos, “For SASS, I just really wanted to encompass a certain attitude. It’s not just about the skinny ladies okay, it’s about the curves, the booty and it’s about insinuating all the womanly curves that you do have.” (Necolebitchie.com)
The Fashion Event featured the talents of B.o.B., Meek Mill, Wale, AraabMusic and more. Rip the Runway made torn out new ground with designers like Brian Lichtenberg, Monif C., Qristyl Frazier, A.K.O.O., Black Apple NYC, and Sammy B. to name a few that caught my eye. #RiptheRunway 2012 brought in fresh talent and hip hop grooves to the fashion capitol of NYC once more, next year should take it to another level!
